Our latest cloud release offers three new capabilities that are focused on one goal: to protect the data you can’t afford to lose and sync data that you can trust.
A quick summary of what’s new:
You can now stop sensitive data from being leaked the moment it is copied, control which files can be uploaded to applications, websites, or emails, and sync employee records straight from your HR system. Together, these updates strengthen your data security, reduce manual work for your team, and deliver more accurate productivity insights.
PII/PHI Redaction
AccessPatrol can now detect and redact any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) the moment it is copied, to help you protect sensitive data at the source. A new dashboard view titled ‘PII/PHI Redaction’ will display total redactions, computers involved, and top apps and websites. Insights are configurable by date.
To enable detection & redaction, select the group for which redaction should be applied. The redaction configuration is group-based. Then, select specific data types, like credit card or passport numbers, that you’d like to detect when copied.
Each copy & detect action appears in the activity log, where you can export records for audits, investigations, or offline review.
File Blocking (Data Control)
Prevent risky files from being uploaded to AI tools, cloud storage, or personal email with the new application, website, and email attachment rules.
To block a file, go to Data Control and choose from Applications, Websites, or Email Attachments.
Then, search for the file you want to block, and choose ‘Add New’. To remove a file from the block list, search for the file, and choose ‘Remove’.
HRIS Integration
As the first of a growing set of HRIS Integrations, admins can now connect CurrentWare to BambooHR to automatically sync employee details and approved time off.
More HRIS Integrations are coming soon.
Why this release matters
The way people work has changed faster than most security policies, especially with AI tools integrating all aspects of everyday work; data security is of utmost importance to the organizations. For various purposes, employees might copy sensitive data into chat apps, upload files to AI assistants, and share documents from their personal email, without thinking about data sensitivity. Each of these instances is a potential data loss risk.
At the same time, team managers are under pressure to make decisions based on real, accurate data. Productivity reports that don’t account for approved time off can often lead to a misinformed decision and create extra work for the managers.

All three features are available now in your CurrentWare console. Connect BambooHR from the new HRIS tab under Integrations, turn on PII/PHI redaction in your AccessPatrol settings, and set up your first file blocking rules in Data Control.
