Remote Client Install Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Turn off Windows Firewalls: Disable Windows Firewall or any other 3rd party Firewalls on your target computers
  2. Turn off UAC: Change your Turn off User Access Control setting to “Never Notify” on your target computers.
  3. Disable UAC Remote Restrictions: See below for full instructions
  4. Use another administrative account: Try the local computer’s account. Try a different domain account.
  5. Try appending the computer name (for local administrator) or domain name (for domain administrator) to the user name field. For example, put in domain\administrator\ in the username field for a domain administrator.
  6. Make sure the destination computer is available: Try to ping the targeted computer.
  7. Include the domain name when entering username field (i.e. Domain\Administrator)
  8. Turn off Simple File Sharing on the client computer (under Folder Options)
  9. Try to use the IP address instead of the computer name, or vice versa.

  1. Go to Start Menu > type in CMD > Right click on it and select “Run as Administrator”.
  2. Copy and paste the following command in command prompt (right click > Paste):
