How do I connect CurrentWare to my SQL Server?

  1. From your CurrentWare Server, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\CurrentWare\cwServer\
  2. In this folder you can run the CWSM.exe file.
  3. This will bring up the CurrentWare Server Manager.
  4. Select Database > Selection > SQL Server.
  5. Enter your SQL Server details:
    1. SQL Server name and instance
    2. Authentication: SQL Server Authentication (recommended)
    3. SQL Account name and password
  6. A new SQL database called CWNPSQL.mdf will be created on your SQL Server.

  2. Select Tools > Database Selection.

Is SQL Server required to run CurrentWare?

By default, CurrentWare uses a SQL database. SQL Server is an additional download packaged with the CurrentWare installation. SQL Server is recommended to manage your CurrentWare Servers database.


Which version of SQL Server is compatible with CurrentWare?

CurrentWare is compatible with most SQL Servers – 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017,2019 (Express, Standard and Enterprise).
