Use Group Grading to Classify Group Productivity

Setup productivity grades for specific groups

When BrowseReporter tracks time spent on websites and applications it automatically assigns a productivity grade of productive, unproductive, or neutral. This allows you to understand how much time is spent on work-related tasks vs non-work web surfing.

To make these productivity gradings more relevant to your organization, we’ve provided you with the ability to modify BrowseReporter’s default app and website productivity gradings to better reflect what is considered productive for your organization.

For example, social media websites may be considered personal browsing time for the majority of your workforce but your marketing department will have a legitimate business purpose for visiting them. Rather than having social media sites designated as unproductive for everyone you can change the grading so that it is considered productive for your marketing department.

To use the Group Grading feature:

  1. Go to BrowseReporter > Dashboard and click on the dashboard settings icon (⚙️)
  2. Click on Productivity Grading
  3. Select the websites/applications/categories you want to grade for your group
  4. Under the “Bulk Actions” dropdown menu, select Group Grading and click Select
  5. Select the groups you want to apply the new grade to
  6. Under Productivity, select the new grade and click Apply
  7. The websites/applications/categories for your groups are now graded differently than the global gradings.

Dashboard Data

Once group gradings have been applied, CurrentWare’s productivity algorithm will automatically update your organization’s productivity score to reflect the changes.

The activity log will now have an indicator telling you that a domain/application/category has group grading applied to it. Here’s an example screenshot showing you that mail.google.com is considered productive in some groups compared to the entire organization:

You can click into it to further see which group the group grading belongs to. In this instance, mail.google.com is considered productive for the DEMO group.
