We are excited to announce our latest version of CurrentWare – Version 188.8.131.52.
In this version, we have strengthened two core features of BrowseReporter to make Internet tracking a much better experience for you.
Only track the time of the active window users are browsing on
In previous versions, BrowseReporter tracked the total time based on the start time and end time of an Internet session (when the browser was opened until when it was closed). We have heard from our customers loud and clear. So we made the following changes:
Active Tracking will only track the time when the Internet browser window is active. In other words, it will track the window that is on top of the other windows. If a window is minimized or is not in focus, the time will not be tracked.
Automatically upload Internet data to the CurrentWare Server
In previous versions, the administrator has to click on “Request latest data” in order to upload the client data to the CurrentWare Server.
We have automated this process completely. The CurrentWare Client will automatically upload data to the CurrentWare Server every few seconds. This will provide the most up-to-date data for your reports.
Bandwidth Summary for computers
It is now much easier to see who is hogging the bandwidth on your network. The new Bandwidth Summary report will give you a list of all your computers along with their bandwidth consumption data (MB sent/ MB received).
Block thousands of websites based on their categories
Partnering with an industry leading URL categorization company, BrowseControl is now stronger than ever. Category Filtering allows managers to choose to block websites based on categories (i.e. social media, porn, jobs searching, sports, etc).
With millions of websites being categorized and updated on a daily basis, this feature will keep your Internet usage policy secured.
This feature has been available since version 184.108.40.206.
We planned to release our latest version of CurrentWare in the upcoming weeks.
