Crystal Report Initialization Error while loading

While running a BrowseReporter report, I encountered an error message "Crystal Report Initialization Error while loading"

To fix this issue, reinstall Crystal Report on the CurrentWare Server

  1. Use MsiZap.exe to remove the previous version of Crystal Report application from the cwConsole.
    1. Download the scripts to remove CR from: https://www.currentware.com/downloads/tools/RemoveCR.zip
    2. Extract all 3 files to C:\Windows\Temp\ folder.
    3. For 64-bit OS, Right click on RemoveCrystalReportx64.vbs and select "Run as administrator".
    4. For 32-bit OS, Right click on RemoveCrystalReportx86.vbs and select "Run as administrator".

  2. Delete the Crystal Report install folder
    • For 64-bit OS, delete folder \Program Files(x86)\Business Objects\
    • For 32-bit OS, delete folder \Program Files\Business Objects\

  3. Delete the following Crystal Report registry keys:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects
  4. Run the CurrentWare.exe Setup file and repair Crystal Report
    1. Run CurrentWare.exe > Select Modify
    2. Reinstall CurrentWare to reinstall Crystal Report.
